Internationally acclaimed Indonesian artist Arkiv Vilmansa debuts in Singapore with his solo exhibition, One or Nothing, a graphical take on Singapore’s relentless pursuit of being number one. Singapore's first designer toy-inspired exhibition ‘One or Nothing’ is a series of twelve paintings that are based on uniquely Singaporean icons. The exhibition invites art and toy enthusiasts to explore the distinct Singaporean way of living through the perspective of an international artist. Arkiv's signature style incorporates fluid and curvaceous lines paired with bright vivid colours which is seen in many of his paintings. ‘Arkiv Instant’, his first vinyl toy figurine, is also one of his most recognised works. The exhibition runs at the FLABSLAB gallery at One Commonwealth from 16 November to 30 November. >>

The identity of The Roof bar is very much inspired by wheat-paste-glued posters on the streets of old Shanghai back in the days, plus elements from the current architecture of the hotel. The idea of such posters is replicated with the vintage newspaper adhering to recycled wood using a modern version of the wheat-paste-like glue. The use of the wood takes cue from the hotel’s windows and wooden decks of the rooftop – which are wood reused from these 1930s old buildings & warehouses in Shanghai.
A website for Spoon Yogurt by fFurious whereby the idea revolves around the concept of time in the sense that any time is a good time to Spoon. It is exemplified by the changing scenes when a user drags the clock’s needle to discover new places to explore.

True to its title, the back of the book is its cover. Each page features a poor person, viewed only from the back. The perforated edge of each French fold encourages the reader to tear it open for a closer look into the world of the poor and underprivileged. At the end of the book (or start of the book, so to speak), the reader discovers that the words encountered throughout the book form the introduction to the book.
Bi-monthly #3 is a culmination of the arrangement project and also served as the catalogue for the exhibition at The Substation. The content of this issue are contributions and extractions of different interpretations gathered from our participants through the distribution of Bi-monthly #2.
