The W+K Tokyo Lab is known for their out-of-the-box thinking, and progressive campaigns, so it comes as no surprise that they reworked the classic Nike sneaker into a fish tank. Complete with three gold fish and a faux tree, the shoes feature a fully visible water unit sole and were crafted for the Nike 78 project. The Nike 78 project set out to pay respect to the Swoosh Company by crafting their sneaker models into other works of art as a nod to Nike’s innovation.

Called Chrono Shredder, the piece displays the dates on a scroll of paper, showing the current day while all the past dates are shredded up to curl in a heap on the floor.

Kiki Smith (born January 18, 1954, in Nuremberg, Germany) is an American artist classified as a feminist artist, a movement with beginnings in the twentieth century. Her Body Art is imbued with political significance, undermining the traditional erotic representations of women by male artists, and often exposes the inner biological systems of females as a metaphor for hidden social issues. Her work also often includes the theme of birth and regeneration, sustenance, and frequently has Catholic allusions. Kopje Kopje is inspired by the puppet shows as the designers remember from their childhood. The characters of Kopje Kopje are “Princess” and “Little RedRidinghood”. They chose these two since these figures bring back their childhood “puppet” memories the most. Some of them just peep over the edge of the cup, observing daily life, while others ‘stay inside’. Kopje Kopje is handmade, each cup is unique.
rENs is the collaboration between Renee Mennen and Stefanie van Keijsteren.

Design project MILE was formed by Bandai Matsuo (acoustic engineer), Kentaro Kai (software engineer) and Kozo Shimoyama (interior designer). With each member’s specialty, they have produced Trio, a 3 legged stool. Softly blending into the everyday life, Trio is realized through a simple process of employing one manufacturing method in one material. It can be used as a stool or a small table.

During the 30s in Paris, Salvador Dalí surrounded himself with a circle of friends involved in the application of art to varied disciplines, above and beyond the study of pure pictorial art. Jean-Michel Frank, a furniture maker and decorator of recognized prestige in the Paris of those years, was on very good terms with Dalí and together they worked on several ideas. The Bracelli lamp which was presented here is a classic design after Jean-Michel’s manner of designing and working, adopted by Dalí for his house at Port Lligat.
In the 90s a group of experts, led by Oscar Tusquets, set themselves the task of turning the furniture Dalí had drawn for Jean-Michel Frank into reality. Amongst these items were the Leda chair and low table, taken from the painting “Femme à la tête rose” (1935). The prototypes were made by the sculptor Joaquim Camps and Bd Barcelona design organised the production and exclusive world marketing.
