Edited BLACK Comme des Garçons and Asylum collaborate for the first time and launch a collection of limited edition tote bags and pin badges. Retailing exclusively at BLACK Comme des Garçons stores in Japan.

Available in 6 designs, the design direction of the tote bags revolves around 3 tenets – Black Bird Singing, Black Star Shining, Black Tree Growing, inspired by the naive nature within every child. While they always fall asleep trusting that there will be the promise of tomorrow, such is the spirit that the designs hope to achieve with the graphics. Thus these light-hearted, whimsical phrases juxtaposed with bold scrawls and sturdy typography transcend into a message of strength and tenacity, hoping to enliven the current situation in Japan. An offbeat sense of optimism is also imbued with the designs of the pin badges, incorporating images and drawings of hats, ribbons and hearts in black, white and iridescent silver. Available in three different sizes, each pin badge is meant to lift the spirits while retaining the non-conformist attitude that is signature to BLACK Comme des Garçons.

The team that this year worked on the annual report of Adris made a wrong estimate, because the covers turned out smaller than the book block itself. The idea was, in fact, to illustrate the results which had surpassed all expectations, with the book which outgrew its covers.
