The Last Session is the most extensive issue to date of our collaborative publishing project: The Session. This issue took the form of an exhibition at Flemish cultural center De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam. The four weeks exhibition with contributions by more than 30 international artists started with an opening weekend with performances, screenings and concerts (a.o. by The Session’s own Moon & Sun and King Kong Kobra) and was accompanied by a publication.
Liv Bugge’s works reside on the border between dreams and reality, perpetrator and victim, science and fiction. Liv Bugge’s book You Make Me Want to Die in the Countryside is, as Bugge defines it, a meditation on the book Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad (1902). With the reference to this specific book in mind, we based the format, binding and materials of the book on an original copy of Heart of Darkness.
Spesial Nord is an artist run, Nordic publication designed to function as a showroom for young newly established artists from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.
