Have you seen people staring at the laptop screen so hard and grining gleefully away? And almost every few minutes, you have to rub your eyes hard because the glare from the screen is hurting you but you are still happy?
Seeing Fernanda Cohen’s works just makes me delightful and joyous.
I really like her works!
JUDY BLAME AKA Chris Barnes aka Fred Poodle is known as one of the most influencial fashion stylists/art directors and ‘anarchic’ jewelry designer in the business. Originally one of late photographer, Ray Petri’s Buffalo Crew, he has since created key looks for Boy George, Neneh Cherry, and Bjork as well as art direction for Massive Attack. His work has graced the pages of I-D, The Face and has worked closely with Jean Baptiste Mondino and Nick Knight. Along with designer Christopher Nemeth and shoe designer John Moore in the late 80’s he opened his own shop ‘House of Beauty & Culture’ selling his own creations made of buttons, string, safety pins, rubberbands, badges, feathers, champagne corks, paperclips, pill bottles, stamps and anything else he could lay his hands on.
Blame has designed a line if T-shirts for cult denim brand Superfine. He has also collaborated with various design houses including John Galliano for Christian Dior, where he acted as creative consultant, and more recently with Rei Kawakubo at Comme des Garçons, who stocks Blames’ accessories line at The Dover Street Market, London.
Judy’s unique gift of making something out of nothing (brown paperbags anyone?)has influenced a generation of stylists proving that it’s individual style that counts, a true ‘Pearly Queen’ if ever there was one.
